چکیده

1 Summary Guide to the Document This report consists of a brief description of the work currently completed and ongoing in this Chapter (1). It then discusses in Chapter 2 general implications for Augmented Reality (AR) research and concludes with a proposal for future work. Appended to this report is a set of completed and unfinished papers and analysis. Appendix A and B contain full papers on One Rock and public interfaces analysis work. Appendix C and D contain rough working documents on the Journey Into Space and the ethnographic analysis tool. Deployments Currently two deployments of technology into public contexts have been performed. Detailed analysis of One Rock has been completed, whereas analysis of the Journey Into Space event is currently developing. One Rock was an art installation in Cumbria, UK, featuring as part of Welfare State International's ongoing Longline project. The installation ran for two months during December and January of 2003/2004. It centred around representing the various different aspects of a large car-sized rock that is prominent in Morecambe Bay, these aspects being variously social, physical and scientific 1 in focus. For example, a large life-size sculpture of the rock dominated one end of the room, representing the macro-level features of the rock, whereas a in the centre of the room a large metal structure (named the 'Incubator') held bottles containing microscopic organisms and other sea life, illustrating some of the micro-level features. Groups of visitors entered the exhibit and took part in a twenty minute 'performance,' during which they explored the space. The Augmented Reality device that we created for the exhibition occupied a place close to the Incubator so that visitors to the installation could see 'con-jured' microscopic imagery emerging from the bottles. Its physical form was modelled on that of a seaside telescope, and as a result, permitted only one user at a time access to the augmented content. When a visitor looked into the Telescope's eyepiece, they were presented with a pass-through view of the real Incubator (from a webcam situated on the front of the Telescope). Overlaid on this view were indicators of areas of interest, such that the user of the Telescope could examine particular bottles and see superimposed video content of sea life. These areas of interest were marked as green regions around certain bottles, and on twisting the eyepiece to increase the 'zoom,' visitors could see these videos grow …

Transfer of Radio-Adaptation via Serum: A Preliminary Report

Introduction: Adaptive response is one of the important concepts in radiobiology. The present report aimed to transfer the radio-adaptation via serum. Material and Methods: In total, 50 male adult Wistar rats were randomly divided into 6 groups, including control, serum control, low-dose (100cGy), low-dose/lethal, serum/lethal, and lethal (8G...

A report on the latest trends in nanofluid research

The term Nanofluids was first coined by Sir Stephen Choi in 1995 at Argonne National Laboratory ,U.S.A .Since the discovery, nanofluid have been explored as heat transfer fluids. Nanofluids increased the thermal conductivity of existing coolants (Water, Ethylene glycol) by a magnitude of hundred times which made them attractive for miniaturization of electronic devices .From 1995 till 2008 nano...

Unsteady Heat and Mass Transfer Near the Stagnation-point on a Vertical Permeable Surface: a Comprehensive Report of Dual Solutions

In this paper, the problem of unsteady mixed convection boundary layer flow of a viscous incompressible fluid near the stagnation-point on a vertical permeable plate with both cases of prescribed wall temperature and prescribed wall heat flux is investigated numerically. Here, both assisting and opposing buoyancy forces are considered and studied. The non-linear coupled partial differential equ...

Synthesis of 1-(isopentyloxy)-4-nitrobenzene under ultrasound assisted liquid-liquid phase-transfer catalysis

In this paper, we report the reaction of isoamyl alcohol and 1-chloro-4-nitrobenzene was carried out in a batch reactor under aqueous-organic biphasic conditions using the techniques like phase transfer catalysis and ultrasound irradiation. Tetrabutylammonium bromide (TBAB) was employed as the phase transfer catalyst. The reaction is greatly enhanced by adding a small quantity of phase-transfer...
